CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
Recent and upcoming construction activities are listed below.
March 10, 2025
Mechanical completion of the first circuits is anticipated this month, with the goal of producing first generation power in March 2025.
The remaining circuits will gradually come online in sequence between April and Summer 2025.
Final site restoration will conclude near the end of Summer 2025.
CR 13 maintenance will continue, with restoration beginning when conditions allow, closer to the end of construction (approximately Summer 2025).
February 10, 2025
Construction will continue throughout the winter, though snow, water, and ice may create additional challenges for site access and ongoing work.
Regular maintenance is being performed at construction entrances to prevent track-out onto roadways.
Maintenance on County Road 13 is planned for the near future and will be scheduled based on temperature and road conditions.
Testing and commissioning of completed areas has begun and will continue through the spring.
December 5, 2024
Module (panel) installation has been completed.
County Road 13 was recently repaired. The road will continue to be maintained until construction is complete.
Work on the project transmission line (along SR 613) has been completed.
The existing transmission line will be rerouted through the interconnection substation in December.
Fence installation will continue through the spring of 2025.
The night work along SR 613 is complete.
Construction is no longer at peak activity. The number of workers on the site will continue to decline as construction comes to a close.
November 6, 2024
Further road maintenance will happen on CR 13 throughout November.
Panel deliveries will conclude close to the end of November.
Night work is planned for the week of November 11 at the project substation on SR 613.
Transmission line construction has started along SR 613 and will continue through the fall.
Fence installation started in October. Installation will continue through the spring of 2025.
The project is still at peak construction activity which will continue to result in a high level of construction traffic.
October 8, 2024
Road maintenance was done in September for CR 13. Further maintenance on the same road may be needed in mid-November.
Module (panel) deliveries will be ongoing through the fall.
Transmission line construction has started along SR 613 and will continue through the fall.
The project is currently at peak construction activity resulting in a high level of construction traffic.
September 10, 2024
Road maintenance is expected in September along CR 13.
Module (panel) deliveries will be ongoing through the fall.
Transmission line construction will start in September. Expect construction activity along SR 613.
Mowing and vegetation maintenance has been and will be an ongoing activity through the fall.
August 2, 2024
Road maintenance is anticipated in August near the project point of interconnection on CR 12.
Inverter placements are expected in the upcoming months. Placement will require cranes, large trailers, and other equipment. This activity may create construction traffic and minor delays on SR 613 and other roads around the project site while inverters are being transported to final locations.
July 8, 2024
Module (panel) installation has started. Deliveries will be ongoing through fall 2024.
Overnight work concluded in June 2024.
Site vegetation maintenance will be ongoing through the summer and fall.
Road maintenance on CR 13 will be ongoing throughout construction of the project. Road maintenance for CR 12 is anticipated for July 2024.
Because construction at Powell Creek is near peak level of activity, traffic around the project area is also nearing its highest level. This is expected to continue through summer and fall of 2024.
June 6, 2024
Additional maintenance will be performed on CR 13 throughout the month of June. No other roads will require improvements at this time; however, maintenance will be ongoing.
Overnight work will occur at the project substation area located on SR 613. The work will not be noisy, but will require lighting overnight.
Some additional deliveries will occur at the project substation located on SR 613 as well as the point-of-interconnection on CR 12.
Module deliveries to the project area are expected to continue through the summer and fall.
OPSB compliance staff has been monitoring the project throughout the construction process.
May 1, 2024
County Road 13 maintenance concluded April 19.
All of the project inverters have been delivered and stored in the project laydown yard(s).
Pile driving activities will continue through the summer.
Tracker installation recently commenced and will continue through the summer.
Module (panel) installation will start this summer and will continue through the fall.
Module deliveries to the project area are expected to continue through the summer and fall.
No other roads will require improvements at this time; maintenance will be ongoing.
